Walking around the gaming hardware halls at Gamescom 2026, we noticed that OXS has shown some intriguing audio hardware. The company is showcasing its new Thunder Duo and Thunder Duo X speaker systems, with the latter featuring a rather unique wireless neck speaker.
The Thunder Duo is a 3.1.2-channel system rated at 110 W RMS and 220 W peak, while the Duo X includes rear-channel audio via the neck speaker, transforming it into a 5.1.2-channel system. This is an interesting approach to surround sound, especially for a desktop setup where finding space for physical rear speakers can be challenging.
OXS is also utilizing alloy-magnet drivers, dual DSP processing, and bass ports designed around fluid dynamics, with the company claiming distortion below 0.5%. The appeal here is less about impressive numbers and more about achieving convincing positional audio without filling an entire room with speakers.
Connectivity options are well covered, with HDMI 2.1/eARC, USB-C, Bluetooth 5.3, and optical inputs. Read full story
